The buccal alveolar deficiency that often occurs following tooth extraction has
a negative impact on aesthetics, especially in the premaxilla.
Therefore, tissue augmentation is frequently needed in conjunction with
implant placement. Various techniques have been described to thicken the
tissues around dental implants. CTG is a more recent technique, which can be
implemented to restore convexity when dealing with limited volume deficiencies
close to the soft tissue margin. However, what about the horizontal stability
of this augmentation procedure?
This lecture will also address the importance of the design of the temporary
restoration to achieve a predictable and optimal aesthetic outcome.
