Wiebe Derksen graduated from the University of Groningen in 2010 (cum laude).

In January 2012, he launched a promotional program on ACTA to digitalization in implantology entitled 'From-Planning-to-Scanning'. In doing so, he made use of Straumann's digital workflow. He has successfully completed the three-year postgraduate degree in Oral Implantology and Prosthetics at ACTA. His expertise and research focuses on Guided Surgery, intraoral scanning, abutment choices and CADCAM restorations.

He is co-author of the latest ITI Consensus Review on Computer Guided Surgery and received the ITI Clinical Research Grant in 2013 for his PhD research.

In addition, Wiebe is active in the practice of his father Ben Derksen, he is chairman of the NVOI Junior Commission iDent35 and editor of the magazine Quality Practice.

Wiebe is ITI Fellow since 2015.
